Foundation offers local children a warm welcome on cold nights!
There is no such thing as dull winter days at AFC Fylde Community Foundation.
Summer may have ended but the Foundation is offering local children a warm welcome on cold nights with even more free community sports sessions.
Supported by BAE Systems, the Foundation delivers two-hour sessions at five different locations throughout the week, reaching out to more boys and girls than ever before.
The fun packed sessions, which include a wide selection of all-inclusive organised sports and games, are part of the Foundation’s commitment to helping keep Fylde active.
The variety of locations means that more youngsters are being given the opportunity to get involved, enjoy sport, meet new friends and continue to stay motivated throughout the long winter months.
The sessions are held on the following days:
• Every Monday: 5pm – 7pm at BActive Warton 3G Pitches
• Every Wednesday: 4.30pm – 5.30pm at Weeton Barracks School MUGA (*note one-hour session due to lighting)
• Every Thursday: 5pm – 7pm at Ashton Gardens MUGA and Pavilion, St. Annes
• Every Friday: 5pm – 7pm at Kirkham Memorial Park MUGA
• Every Saturday: 2pm – 4pm at Mornington Road MUGA, Lytham
Demand is high so anybody who may be interested in getting involved or requires more information should contact the Foundation by calling 01772 598852 or emailing email@example.com
Foundation Physical Activity Coach Scott Harries is confident the Foundation’s winter programme will be a huge hit with local youngsters.
He said: “The free outreach sessions are a great addition to what we are able to offer our local community.
“They provide a safe, structured and fun environment for local children to take part in physical activity and make some new friends at the same time. The sessions have been a great success so far and the brilliant momentum will only continue to gather pace.”
