Foundation showcases local talent!
AFC Fylde Community Foundation have been encouraging children within the local area to get behind the camera and showcase their talents through its inaugural ‘Fylde’s Got Talent’ competition.
For the past two weeks the charitable arm of AFC Fylde, have been inundated with footage of local children performing a variety of acts, ranging from singing and dancing to football and boxing, who are all in with a chance of winning exclusive AFC Fylde match day experiences
With the current government lockdown remaining in place and many local families perhaps struggling to keep their children entertained throughout the day, the Foundation aims to give Fylde residents something to turn their attention to.
Through the fantastic support of the National League Trust, AFC Fylde Community Foundation have been able to continue engaging with children and families throughout the Fylde during this difficult time and without them this competition would not have been possible.
Foundation Sports Development Co-ordinator Dan Cookson said: ‘The Foundation recognises that it’s a difficult time for everybody within the community at the moment and that local children are affected as much as anybody else.
“Not being able to see their friends at school or play out on the street can make it a really tough time for both them and their families with a lack of things to do, especially as we enter into 6 weeks at home. So we will continue to look at ways we can support local families throughout this crisis.”
Foundation Head of Media Linus Welsh has overseen an overwhelming response to the competition and added: “The online talent show has been a fantastic success. We had the goal of delivering an online programme that not only get’s children active and creative, but also give’s them something to look forward to in the future with the prizes on offer.
“Our local participants have submitted some fantastic entries and it makes myself and the team at the Foundation incredibly proud of our local community and the talent they have to offer.”
