Foundation visit hospital with some very special guests!
AFC Fylde Community Foundation, recently visited the children’s ward at Blackpool Victoria Hospital as a special surprise.
They were joined by the entire AFC Fylde first team squad armed with presents and gifts for the youngsters who were unfortunately having to spend time in hospital.
The AFC Fylde players, alongside the staff from the Foundation, had a fantastic day at the hospital and said they were humbled by the appreciation shown by the children for their visit.
The hospital visit is an annual event organised by the Foundation every Christmas and regarded as a very special date in the team’s hectic calendar
Foundation Director Tom Hutton looks forward to the event every year and said: “The hospital visit is an event we look forward to every year. Ourselves and the club take great pride in visiting the hospital and delivering presents to the children. If we can make their Christmas just a little bit more enjoyable, then that’s something we will take great pride in doing.”
AFC Fylde striker Danny Rowe was one of the players who attended and said: “It’s always sad to see young people in hospital, particularly at Christmas and we hope we did our bit to make them feel a bit better.’
“It’s nice that the lads could bring a bit of cheer to the children at Christmas.”
