Foundation’s Winning Teamwork On – and Off – the Pitch!
It takes great teamwork to achieve success on and off the pitch.
Working together reaps the greatest results as AFC Fylde Community Foundation knows only too well.
Each year, the charitable arm of AFC Fylde holds a special Partners Football Tournament to celebrate its collaborative work with local organisations.
BAE Systems, Cuadrilla Resources, Kepak Convenience Foods, Beaverbrooks Jewellers, the Frank Whittle Partnership Group and Inspired Energy were amongst those recently invited to take part in the action at Fylde Sports and Education Centre.
The tournament focuses on using the power of football to bring local businesses together to celebrate the ground-breaking projects that are being delivered in the local community as a result of the pioneering partnership work. The event was a huge success, with all the organisations entering the spirit of the game and enjoying an evening focusing on the ball, rather than business!
Foundation Director Tom Hutton is a big believer in using the energy of football to bring people together. He said: “The organisations invited to take part in our tournament play a huge part in supporting us to deliver our many projects and programmes in the local community. They make a real difference in allowing us to deliver the work we do.
“We aim to run our Partnership Football Tournament at least once a year, inviting all partners to attend and enjoy an evening of great football with other local businesses and colleagues.
“The tournament this year was a massive success. Everybody had a great time. I’m honoured we can continue to work with such a great group of businesses. It was a great result all round!”
