Twinning Project

A partnership between Her Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service (HMPPS) and professional football clubs with the objective of twinning every prison in England and Wales with a local professional football club.

The Project.

The Twinning Project is a partnership between local professional football clubs such as AFC Fylde/ AFC Fylde Community Foundation and Her Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service. (HMPPS)

The aim is to engage approximately 100 prisoners per year in each of the 114 prisons in England and Wales in football-based programmes to improve their mental and physical health, wellbeing and obtain a qualification which will help improve their life chances and gain employment on release.

Here at the Foundation our coaching/ delivery staff and extended services team help deliver coaching and employability-based sessions and workshops to the prisoners to help prepare them for their future life once released.

By giving offenders this employability opportunity, the drive to re-offend is decreased greatly.
