Weeton Barracks Youth Club
Our youth club is open to children of all ages, and offers a wide range of activities.
The youth club aims to inspire young people’s creativity, improve fitness levels, and help to build friendships!
Activities include arts and crafts, sports, board games as well as access to computers and a quiet zone for children to relax or study.
We believe that after school clubs such as ours are key to helping young people develop, especially since the COVID-19 pandemic began. Having spent a full day in school, children have a lot of extra energy which needs to be used; the club enables children to engage in activities that will help build their confidence, skills and social abilities.
Youth club leader, Lee Geraghty, says “Following covid restrictions I feel it is important to encourage children to do extracurricular activities in the community centre.”
“Children benefit from the socialisation aspects of the youth club, the physical education side is also important. Hopefully it’s something that the kids will look forward to every week!”
Clubs take place every Wednesday at Weeton Barracks, 4:30pm – 5:30pm.
