Heyhouses Church of England Primary School's Under-11 Girls Football Team to represent AFC Fylde at Wembley Stadium this weekend.
The road to Wembley began on Friday 12th January when they made the short journey down Clifton Drive to AKS Lytham where they competed against 12 other schools and won the Foundation’s National League Trust Girls Tournament progressing to the next round of The National League Trust Cup.
Nearly three weeks later, Heyhouses travelled to Oldham Athletic Community Trust to participate in the North West Regional Tournament of The National League Trust Cup, which of course they went on to win once again.
As a result of their victory in Oldham, they was now just one step away from making it all the way, as this time their journey took them to Chesterfield.
Despite a difficult match in the final of The Northern National League Trust Cup, the girls came out on top in a penalty shootout - setting up the final stop of their illustrious story, in which they have only conceded three goals in play in their three tournaments so far.
Heyhouses will take on the School representative of Slough Town FC on Sunday 5th May, just before kick off of the National League play-off final between Bromley and Solihull Moors. There is expected to be a crowd of 38,000 in attendance - no pressure girls.
The girls have been provided with AFC Fylde home kits with Norbreck Self Storage the front of shirt sponsor and Kepak Consumer Foods as the sponsor on the sleeve.
We'd like to say a massive congratulations to both the team and Heyhouses, we are immensely proud of everything you have achieved and we can't wait for the Final on Sunday!
