The start of the 2024/2025 season has welcomed the return of AFC Fylde Community Foundation (AFCFCF) and AFC Fylde's incredibly popular, Fans of the Future programme.
After the demand last year, the Foundation, alongside the club, have made the decision to bring back our Fans of the Future scheme.
The programme runs every home matchday on a Saturday, with the occasional opportunity to attend on a Tuesday night fixture.
The on-the-day schedule is action-packed right from the get go. The 'Fans of the Future' arrive at 12:00 and head up to the stadium for an exclusive behind the scenes tour of Mill Farm.
This provides the chance for the children to see the stunning views from our Sky Box and learn what makes Mill Farm so special. They will then head down into the tunnel where they can reflect on the history of the club, learn niche facts about the building.
They are then taking into the home dressing room with the opportunity to interact with players ahead of their match preparation and see what it's like to be a professional footballer.
After the tour is complete, they then had back to Fylde Sports and Education Centre (FSEC) where they will all be individually presented, from an AFC Fylde First-Team player, with a gift bag full of presents from the club.
There will then be a souvenir photo captured with each individual child with Syd the Seagull and the First-Team player presenting the gift bags.
They then head out onto the football pitches at FSEC where they receive an hour coaching session from AFCFCF coaching staff, before returning to Mill Farm and having a couple of shots at the Foundation's inflatable goal.
After being provided with two free tickets (one per child and an accompanying adult) the children then take centre stage on the pitch, performing a guard of honour and waving the players out for kick off.
They then head back out onto the pitch at half-time to take a penalty against Syd the Seagull in front of the North Stand.
Our Chief Operating Officer, Michael Whittle, said: "Fans of the Future is a fantastic project that provides so many individual children and different grassroot teams with an experience they'll never forget.
"What's not to enjoy about a free football match? And with everything else added on top of it we have no doubt it will continue to be a great success."
"A lot of hard work and commitment is put in behind the scenes to make this programme come to life, but all the staff involved from the Foundation and the club do a brilliant job.
The package is completely free of charge, but there has been an unprecedented level of interest already in the opening few weeks of the campaign, so there is limited availability.
